The Young Journalist Weekend

On the Young Journalist Weekend, a group of journalists from some of the world’s most renowned media brands will immerse you in the world of news and media through a series of interactive role-plays, seminars and Q&A sessions.

You will have the opportunity to experience some hands-on activities, including learning to structure an article, recording your own news story, and flexing your editorial skills to build your own news programme. You will also be coached on how to maximise your chances of becoming a top news professional, starting now. 

The programme takes place over two days – Saturday dedicated to written and investigative journalism, and Sunday to broadcast journalism and newsrooms. You can choose to attend either one or both days.

Attendance will give you a competitive edge in the race for the best universities and jobs in journalism and a ‘super-curricular’ experience to add to your CV and UCAS application.

Fees, Eligibility and Options

This programme is for students aged 15-18. No prior knowledge or experience is required. The programme involves a mixture of interactive simulations, exercises and Q&A sessions.

Programme Fee:

£165/student for both days.
