On the Young Journalist Programme, a group of journalists from some of the world’s most renowned media houses will immerse you in a series of interactive role plays, seminars, and Q&A sessions, to give you a 360-degree experience of journalism. You will also be coached on how to maximise your chances of becoming a top journalist, starting now.  You will leave the programme having gained a competitive advantage over other aspiring journalists, and a brilliant experience to include on your UCAS application.

Programme Outcomes and Highlights 

You will undertake the ultimate work experience in journalism, participating in activities including:

  • Writing your own news column
  • Planning your own investigative scoop
  • Recording your own news story
  • Using data to bring your words to life
  • You will be coached by our expert journalists through each of these tasks and be given live feedback

 

You will be coached on how to become a top journalist:

  • An action plan of how to get to the top, starting now
  • Coaching by experts on A-level, university and degree choices; extra-curricular activities; work experience; and application techniques

You will have access to established journalists from some of the most renowned media houses in the world:

  • Q&A time with journalists who have worked at places such as The BBC, The Economist, The Daily Telegraph, CNN, ITV, Sky News, Private Eye and The Independent.
  • Unlimited lifetime access to our depth of expertise. Students can contact us for further advice at any time and the most-relevant journalist will respond to your questions.

    WHO CAN ATTEND?

    This programme is for students aged 15-18 who have the passion and ambition to both learn about this career, and start boosting their UCAS/college applications & CVs. If you are a student who is slightly older or younger than our guidelines, then please do get in touch with us to discuss your specific situation.


    There is no application process, and you can secure your place simply by clicking “Register Now”. We operate on a first-come first-served basis and programme places are limited; we are usually full a couple of months in advance of the programme date. No prior knowledge or experience is required to join this programme as we build your knowledge from the basics up to more advanced concepts.
