The Young International Development Expert Programme

The Young International Development Expert Programme

London • Ages 15-18

30th - 31st January 2021
Live Online

The Young International Development Expert Programme takes students aged 15-18 on an immersive exploration through the development world, from humanitarian relief work to sustainable development initiatives. The programme brings experts from NGOs, aid charities and the Department For International Development (DFID) to UCL to coach you through a series of interactive simulations, seminars, case studies and Q&A sessions.

The programme includes an opportunity to design and carry out a simulated humanitarian relief project in which you enter a crisis zone, design a relief strategy and complete the challenges set before you. You will also research and advocate environmental policies on an international stage.

The programme takes place over two days – Saturday dedicated to Human Development and Sunday to Environmental Development. You can choose to attend either one or both days.

Attendance will give you a competitive edge in the race for the best universities and jobs in international development and a ‘super-curricular’ experience to add to your CV and UCAS application.
