PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION

The Young Lawyer Programme is the ultimate legal work experience for students aged 15-18.

The programme wraps up the key knowledge and experience you want to gain, delivered powerfully by leading lawyers from across the board. Throughout the day, you will be immersed in a series of interactive role plays, talks, case studies, and Q&A sessions, to give you a 360-degree experience of life as a lawyer.

You will leave the programme with a strong advantage over your peers in the hyper-competitive race for the most desirable legal jobs, and a fantastic experience to include in your UCAS form.

Programme Outcomes and Highlights 

1. You will step into the shoes of a lawyer for the day, with activities including:

  • Live mock criminal trial where you cross-examine witnesses.
  • Challenging your opponents in a high-profile litigation case.
  • Public speaking coaching by expert barristers.

2. You will gain a competitive advantage over your peers in the race for the most sought-after legal jobs:

  • An action plan of how to get a top legal job, starting now.
  • Coaching by experts on: A-level, university and degree choices; extra-curricular activities; work experience; and application and interview techniques.

3. You will have access to leading lawyers from across the board:

  • Q&A time with both barristers and solicitors, covering areas such as the City of London, criminal law, family law, and human rights.
  • Unlimited lifetime access to our depth of expertise. Students can contact us for further advice at any time.

4. Boost your UCAS form and job applications:

  • Attendance demonstrates you’ve gained key skills such as: teamwork, problem-solving, commercial awareness, and public speaking.

How do I book my place?
Simply click “Register Now” on the right to begin the registration process.
Do I need to apply and be accepted in order to attend a programme?
There is no application in order to attend our programmes, as we feel that passion, ambition and a willingness to commit toward your future is enough. Our programmes, however, are extremely popular and are often full months in advance. We offer our places on a first-come first-served basis and places are highly limited.
Do I need to have prior knowledge?
No prior knowledge is required to attend our programmes, as we introduce each topic from a basic level of understanding.
What is the dress code for the programme/internship?
We ask that students wear professional clothing on our programmes as you will be meeting industry executives. Essentially, avoid wearing jeans, trainers or tracksuits. Suits, chinos and other smart casual wear are all acceptable.
How much do your one-day programmes cost?

Our one-day career experiences cost £135/student. This includes:

  • Entry to the programme
  • Access to our online assessment after the programme (pass and you receive a personalised certificate)
  • Lifetime access to our expertise; students can email us with career-related questions at any time and the most appropriate professional will provide their response. This can be an invaluable source of career coaching for life.

What time should I arrive?

Our one-day programmes generally start at 10.30am (11am for our Beyond Programmes). Registration is between 9.45-10.15am, to ensure you get there with plenty of time to network with other attendees before the programme begins. Once you have booked onto a programme, you will receive a confirmation email with programme-specific details about registration and programme timings.

Is lunch provided at your one-day programmes?

Lunch is not provided by InvestIN, as it is difficult to cater for the variety of dietary requirements amongst our students, However, there are many cafés and lunch spots near our venues; or you can of course bring a packed lunch.

Water will be provided for you throughout the day.

Can you bring food and drink to the event?

You are welcome to bring food and drink to the programme.

Do you let in latecomers?

The registration desk is open until noon, but If you are going to arrive after this, please email info@investineducation.co.uk in advance so that we can arrange for someone to be on-hand to register you.

Can I bring a bag into this event?

There will be space to store any bags and luggage at the event, simply ask a member of staff when you register.

WHO CAN ATTEND?

This programme is for students aged 15-18 who have the passion and ambition to both learn about this career, and start boosting their UCAS/college applications & CVs. If you are a student who is slightly older or younger than our guidelines, then please do get in touch with us to discuss your specific situation.


There is no application process, and you can secure your place simply by clicking “Register Now”. We operate on a first-come first-served basis and programme places are limited; we are usually full a couple of months in advance of the programme date. No prior knowledge or experience is required to join this programme as we build your knowledge from the basics up to more advanced concepts.
