The Young Lawyer Programme is the ultimate legal work experience for students aged 15-18.

The programme wraps up the key knowledge and experience you want to gain, delivered powerfully by leading lawyers from across the board. 

You will leave the programme with a strong advantage over your peers in the hyper-competitive race for the most desirable legal jobs, and a fantastic experience to include in your UCAS form.

HIGHLIGHTS

Throughout the day, you will be immersed in a series of interactive role-plays, talks, case studies, and Q&A sessions, to give you a 360-degree experience of life as a lawyer.

You will step into the shoes of a lawyer for the day, with activities including:

  • Live mock criminal trial where you cross-examine witnesses.
  • Challenging your opponents in a high-profile litigation case.
  • Public speaking coaching by expert barristers.

  • An action plan of how to get a top legal job, starting now.
  • Coaching by experts on: A-level, university and degree choices; extra-curricular activities; work experience; and application and interview techniques.

  • Q&A time with both barristers and solicitors, covering areas such as the City of London, criminal law, family law, and human rights.

    2.00pm The City Lawyer - A senior City lawyer coaches you on the why, where, what, and who of City law firms

    3.00pm The Family & Human Rights Lawyer - Debate against lawyers in a contentious divorce dispute
    - Argue the human rights case: Can your client force his daughter to wear religious clothing?

    4.00pm Career Coaching – How To Become A Top Lawyer - Expert advice from the Head of Graduate Recruitment at a City law firm, and a Senior Barrister

    WHO CAN ATTEND?

    This programme is for students aged 15-18 who have the passion and ambition to both learn about this career, and start boosting their UCAS/college applications & CVs. If you are a student who is slightly older or younger than our guidelines, then please do get in touch with us to discuss your specific situation.


    There is no application process, and you can secure your place simply by clicking “Register Now”. We operate on a first-come first-served basis and programme places are limited; we are usually full a couple of months in advance of the programme date. No prior knowledge or experience is required to join this programme as we build your knowledge from the basics up to more advanced concepts.
