Are you aged 12-14 and aspire to become a top lawyer, doctor, engineer or investment banker in the future?

The ‘Step Into Your Future’ Weekend, gives you the opportunity to gain an immersive experience in one of these professions right now. You will be coached by leading doctors, engineers, investment bankers and lawyers in how to fulfil their dreams, with guidance all the way from GCSE choices through to A-level/IB, university and beyond.

The weekend is split into four distinct half-day sessions. Saturday will be dedicated to Medicine (morning) and Engineering (afternoon) and Sunday to Law (morning) and Investment Banking (afternoon). Students can choose to attend any number of sessions across the two days.

HIGHLIGHTS

The programme includes a series of interactive simulations, seminars, case studies, and Q&A sessions with a team of accomplished professionals. 

Medicine:

  • Learn how to save a patient’s life
  • Listen to a heartbeat and understand how to read an ECG

Engineering:

  • Use aeronautical engineering concepts to design an aeroplane
  • Use structural design to build a skyscraper to withstand earthquakes and hurricanes

Law:

  • Participate in a live courtroom battle
  • Interactive public speaking exercises

Investment Banking:

  • Build your own stock portfolio
  • Analyse a merger between two of the world’s biggest companies

 

The programme will give you three pillars of a successful professional future:

  1. An experience of up to four of the world’s most desirable careers: Medicine, Engineering, Investment Banking and Law. Participate in interactive exercises which simulate real-life work done by these professionals
  2. Coaching on a successful future: Step-by-step guidance on how to fulfil your career ambitions: GCSE and A-level choices; extra-curricular activities; work experience; excelling in the UCAS process; university choices and beyond.
  3. A chance to meet people who have succeeded from your position: successful doctors, engineers, investment bankers and lawyers all ready to answer all your burning questions.

      - Practical: React appropriately in an emergency and perform CPR on a medical training mannequin

      - Listen to recordings of a healthy and an abnormal heart
      - Learn how to read an ECG
      - Patient Consultation: Analyse a patient’s ECG, identify abnormalities and suggest appropriate action to be taken
      12.45pm Career Coaching - Interactive session dedicated to your journey to becoming a top doctor. Detailed advice on:

      2.45pm Design a Plane - Discover the world of Aeronautical Engineering
      - Construction materials and the architecture of planes
      - Factors affecting flight
      - Employ the laws of physics to construct a plane and then test its flight distance against your peers
      3.45pm Build a Skyscraper - Discover the world of Civil Engineering
      - Use core engineering principles to design and build the tallest, strongest skyscraper you can
      - Stick to a strict budget
      - Test your build against earthquakes, hurricanes, high winds, sleet, snow and hail
      4.45pm Career Coaching - Interactive session dedicated to your journey to becoming a top engineer. Detailed advice on:

      WHO CAN ATTEND?

      This programme is for students aged 12-14 who have the passion and ambition to both learn about these careers, and start boosting their UCAS/college applications & CVs. 

      There is no application process, and you can secure your place simply by clicking “Register Now”. We operate on a first-come first-served basis and programme places are limited; we are usually full a couple of months in advance of the programme date. No prior knowledge or experience is required to join this programme as we build your knowledge from the basics up to more advanced concepts.
