Internship Overview
On the Young Journalist Programme, a group of journalists from some of the world’s most renowned media brands will immerse you in the world of news and media through a series of interactive role-plays, seminars and Q&A sessions.
You will have the opportunity to experience some hands-on activities, including learning to structure an article, recording your own news story, and flexing your editorial skills to build your own news programme. You will also be coached on how to maximise your chances of becoming a top news professional, starting now.
The programme takes place over two days – Saturday dedicated to written and investigative journalism, and Sunday to broadcast journalism and newsrooms. You can choose to attend either one or both days.
Attendance will give you a competitive edge in the race for the best universities and jobs in journalism and a ‘super-curricular’ experience to add to your CV and UCAS application.
This programme will take place online, delivered LIVE by top professionals, with opportunities for you to interact and ask questions. The programme involves a mixture of interactive simulations, exercises and Q&A sessions.
Programme Fee:

You can attend this programme via our state-of-the-art, interactive online platform from anywhere in the world. All the content will be delivered in a live, interactive manner and you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions of our experienced professionals. All you need is an internet connection; we will send you full details of how to access the programme well in advance.
This programme is for students aged 15-18 who have the passion and ambition to both learn about this career, and start boosting their UCAS/college applications & CVs. If you are a student who is slightly older or younger than our guidelines, then please do get in touch with us to discuss your specific situation.
There is no application process, and you can secure your place simply by clicking “Register Now”. We operate on a first-come first-served basis and programme places are limited; we are usually full a couple of months in advance of the programme date. No prior knowledge or experience is required to join this programme as we build your knowledge from the basics up to more advanced concepts.
This programme will be delivered ‘Live Online’, so is not affected at all by any Covid-19 restrictions.
