On the Young Journalist Programme, a group of journalists from some of the world’s most renowned media brands will immerse you in the world of journalism through a series of interactive role plays, seminars and Q&A sessions.

You will have the opportunity to experience some hands-on journalistic activities, including pursuing a thrilling corporate manslaughter investigation and recording your own news story.

You will also be coached on how to maximise your chances of becoming a top journalist, starting now.  You will leave the programme having gained a competitive edge over other aspiring journalists, and a 'super-curricular' experience to include on your UCAS application.

An Immersive Experience of Journalism

Programme Format:

The programme takes place at UCL, with group activities in break-out areas and seminar aspects in a lecture hall. The programme involves a mixture of interactive simulations, exercises and Q&A sessions. A full timetable can be found below.

    This programme is for students aged 15-18 who have the passion and ambition to both learn about this career, and start boosting their UCAS/college applications & CVs. If you are a student who is slightly older or younger than our guidelines, then please do get in touch with us to discuss your specific situation.

    There is no application process, and you can secure your place simply by clicking “Register Now”. We operate on a first-come first-served basis and programme places are limited; we are usually full a couple of months in advance of the programme date. No prior knowledge or experience is required to join this programme as we build your knowledge from the basics up to more advanced concepts.
