Are you aged 12-14 and fascinated by the world of Science? Have you ever wondered where your curiosity could take you?  

The 'Beyond Science' Programme gives passionate students the opportunity to step into a world beyond classroom Science. You will be coached by leading experts in Science, as well as high-calibre professionals (such as doctors and engineers) who used their study of Science as a launchpad for a successful career. Furthermore, highly successful Oxford and Cambridge science graduates will be on-hand all day to answer all your questions about their path to an elite university and what it takes to succeed against the competition.

The programme therefore provides a holistic, super-curricular experience - giving you both in-depth knowledge about the subject and coaching you to fulfil your dreams in this field…

The programme will give you four pillars of a successful future in Science:

1. An experience of the latest scientific breakthroughs:

  • including the latest developments on Quantum Computers and Artificial Intelligence. This super-curricular learning will take your scientific skills to a higher level and enable you to demonstrate your passion for Science on application forms.

2. An experience of two of the most desirable careers that Science can take you to:

  • Medicine and Engineering. Try your hand at some work commonly done by these professionals and see first-hand how a Science background can propel you to a successful future.

3. Coaching on a successful future in Science:

  • GCSE and A-level choices; extra-curricular activities; work experience; excelling in the UCAS process; specific advice on applications to Oxford and Cambridge; coaching on how to become a top doctor or engineer; and advice on other excellent jobs you can pursue with a Science background.

4. A chance to meet people who have succeeded from your position:

  • Science graduates from Oxford and Cambridge, as well as doctors and engineers, ready to answer all your burning questions.

How do I book my place?
Simply click “Register Now” on the right to begin the registration process.
Do I need to apply and be accepted in order to attend a programme?
There is no application in order to attend our programmes, as we feel that passion, ambition and a willingness to commit toward your future is enough. Our programmes, however, are extremely popular and are often full months in advance. We offer our places on a first-come first-served basis and places are highly limited.
Do I need to have prior knowledge?
No prior knowledge is required to attend our programmes, as we introduce each topic from a basic level of understanding.
What is the dress code for the programme/internship?
We ask that students wear professional clothing on our programmes as you will be meeting industry executives. Essentially, avoid wearing jeans, trainers or tracksuits. Suits, chinos and other smart casual wear are all acceptable.
How much do your ‘Beyond’ programmes cost?

Our one-day career experiences cost £115/student. This includes:

  • Entry to the programme
  • Lifetime access to our expertise; students can email us with career-related questions at any time and the most appropriate professional will provide their response. This can be an invaluable source of career coaching for life.

What time should I arrive?

Registration for the programme is between 10.15-10.45am and the programme begins at 11am

Do I need to bring anything with me? 

You do not need to bring anything with you save for a pen, a notepad, and your enthusiasm! You will be provided with a booklet of materials on arrival, and throughout the programme you’ll be given the requisite equipment to participate in the simulations.

I am a parent; Can I accompany the attendee on the programme?

We ask that parents and teachers do not accompany attendees into the actual programme itself; this is to simulate a professional environment for the students. However, there will always a be space available around the programme venue for parents or teachers to wait, should they wish to do so. Parents and teachers are also welcome to meet attendees for the lunch break.

Is lunch provided at your one-day programmes?

Lunch is not provided by InvestIN, as it is difficult to cater for the variety of dietary requirements amongst our students, However, there are many cafés and lunch spots near our venues; or you can of course bring a packed lunch.

Water will be provided for you throughout the day.

Can you bring food and drink to the event?

You are welcome to bring food and drink to the programme.

Do you let in latecomers?

The registration desk is open until noon, but If you are going to arrive after this, please email in advance so that we can arrange for someone to be on-hand to register you.

Can I bring a bag into this event?

There will be space to store any bags and luggage at the event, simply ask a member of staff when you register.

This programme is for students aged 12-14 who have the passion and ambition to start taking their knowledge beyond the classroom. If you are a student who is slightly older or younger than our guidelines, then please do get in touch with us to discuss your specific situation.

There is no application process, and you can secure your place simply by clicking “Register Now”. We operate on a first-come first-served basis and programme places are limited; we are usually full a couple of months in advance of the programme date. No prior knowledge or experience is required to join this programme as we build your knowledge from the basics up to more advanced concepts.
